Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ILEAP)

Accreditation is an ongoing process through which law enforcement agencies voluntarily measure their policies and procedures against established and accepted standards of excellence, and has its compliance with those criteria verified by an independent, authoritative body.  For Illinois police departments, The Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Council serves in this capacity.  In December 2015, after many months of review, self-assessment and preparation, the Skokie Police Department was awarded reaccredited status through the ILEAP program.  The Department will next be assessed in the Fall of 2019.
